First Laughs

Adelyn has giggled for us a few times, usually when we're tickling her or kissing her neck. Last night Carson was jumping up and down and flapping his arms like a chicken and she started belly laughing! First time! Carson was pleased that her first real laughs were for him. We took a short video of it:
This was about 10 minutes into laughing, so at this point it was waning, but still pretty cute.
Hope you have a great day!

Squeaky Clean!

just out of the bath and a happy little camper!

I noticed that lately it's all pictures of Addie. Don't think I'm ignoring the boys! They've been so busy lately with other things that I can't get a good picture of them! Carson has a girlfriend at school named Chloe and they stay busy drawing each other friendship pictures every afternoon after school. Funny! Chloe may be switching schools soon because her parents bought a new house so they are very sad. I can't quite figure out when/if she's actually leaving but Carson always thinks it's her last day so he makes her another picture. I am starting to wonder if she's not saying it's her last day so he keeps it up! LOL But I seriously doubt she's in that manipulative stage yet. But I do bet she's enjoying the attention!

Trevor is busy building legos and practicing his ABC's. He had them down but I hate to say we slacked off on our work with the holidays and he's had to catch back up. I felt awful for that, but we're already back on track after just a few days of working with him again. Yay!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

So cute

I keep getting reminded of Baby Carson when I see or take pictures of Addie. I can't help it. Could you?

Sorry Guys

I'm sorry to make this private again, but I'm still having the same issue with strange stalkers, so I'm going to have to block anyone not on the list. I don't want to move the website again and I know how this particular person keeps finding it and it's not something I can go through 4 years of blogging to fix. (Names, etc)

So, sorry for the extra step in seeing our family, hope it's not too much trouble.

Winter Days

We've been hibernating at home, coloring and playing games and watching movies. It's been really fun but we have started to get a touch of cabin fever. We went to Reed's moms last weekend and that was a much needed respite, but far too short. I have a few pics from that, and I'll post those soon.
Meantime, check out two of my cuties from today:

WHY did she have to be wearing yucky pj's? lol

after a quick bath and a change, and sitting on big brother Trevor's lap. She really loves both boys. She lights up when she sees them and starts babbling. They love that she is responding to them and compete to see who can get her attention. You think she's going to be a bit over protected? LOL

Sassy Senorita

HEY!

Is this tulle or cotton?

It's baby soft tulle you say?

Maybe I should taste to be sure...

My silly boy...

Man, I love this kid. He's so silly. So sweet. Still such a baby even though he's a big boy now. I want to freeze the way he is and keep him in this not-quite-big-boy bubble for a little longer.

Gingerbread House

I'm really behind in posting, I know. The boys enjoyed making and then destroying their gingerbread house. I thought it was a lot of work for something they ate half of like 2 minutes after finishing, but it was fun and that was the whole point. :)
being very careful!

tada! finshed product!

yum!

Good Morning!

We know it's been awhile since we were able to post. Lots of things going on around here again, and we know you understand. But I couldn't resist posting this picture of my sweet Addie-pie! She's growing so quickly! She loves the Bumbo chair Mimi bought her at Christmas and likes being able to sit up so she can watch and interact with the boys. She's playing with toys now and is vocal about which ones she wants. She likes watching Baby Einstein dvd's and will coo at the tv when they are on. She's so content and happy and the boys just adore her! It's really sweet to watch her get more and more interested in what they are doing. She's also eating dinner now, at the table with the rest of us! So far she has loved everything we've tried and I'm making a few things myself, like bananas and carrots, so we'll see how that goes!
Have a great Monday!

I guess...

he enjoyed them!
Yes, Santa has already stopped by our house. And now a very tired mom and dad are going to bed.

Will he visit us??

We decided that Santa might get tired of all those cookies and he might like a rice krispie treat for a change...

Counting Down

In this last week before Christmas, we've been running errands, making some last minute Christmas gifts, wrapping things and trying to keep some holiday magic going. This year the boys have made Christmas really special for Reed and I--we both agree that this year they both seem to really FEEL it, and their excitement and wonder are contagious. It's been so fun doing starting new traditions and bringing old ones back. Sharing Christmas movies that we watched as children with them as they finally not only understand but are eager to watch.
One of the things we did this week was go to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa's Workshop. We'd already been to see the big man at our mall, but I'd heard that the workshop was alot of fun and we had a free day, so I figured two visits to put in a good word wouldn't hurt.
After assuring Santa that they have both been very good and letting him know that Carson wants a nerf gun ("I promise I won't shoot my baby sister") and Trevor wants a medium bike ("Because I'm a medium boy now"), they were ready to check out the other fun things at the workshop. Of course I made them pose for a few pictures first.

Watch the fish...

As it passed their heads here, it totally took a fish dump. I was laughing hysterically and the boys wanted to know why.

Carson made the same face just after the click, but I caught Trevor's...priceless:

Gotta love Bass Pro Shop!

Just Reminiscing

And noticing how quickly time flies with a little one...

a few hours old...oh, the possibilities

at one month, already sweet as can be

month two, can't even remember life before her

month three, making her mark with her brothers
at four months old, she's more wonderful than ever.
so alert, always smiling, cooing to get our attention. her face lights up when her sweet brothers talk to her. she gets excited and kicks and squeals when Daddy gets home. and she sometimes gives that contented baby sigh when I pick her up and nuzzles her head on my chest.
We love you Addie-pie!

a bit of video

Carson is there, watch through the end.

Christmas Program

Last night was Carson's first ever Christmas Program that he performed in.
It was very sweet, very cute, and very LOUD.
The school he goes to has a pretty nice stage and sound system, which they could have turned down a bit.
Either way, the songs were adorable and sang with gusto!

just before he went on stage

Addie thought the songs were pefect lullabies

completely sew-tarded

one of my aunts gave me her old sewing machine and I was so excited! when I do crafts with materials I have to hand stitch, which I'm okay with, it's just time consuming.
So when this was offered, I immediately started thinking of all the cute things I could make...clothes for addie, better curtains, cool gifts, felt foods....
So the other morning I decide to attempt something I am making for Christmas. After 6 phone calls and three youtube instructional videos, I finally get the thing threaded correctly. You read that right. And man, isn't YouTube amazing?? I had no idea there were videos like that..
Anyway, I finally got it threaded, and went to town. All was well until I turned the material over...

Yeah, oops.
It's just insane to me. I'm a pretty intelligent person with an IQ well up there. I am also pretty darn crafty. I can make halloween costumes out of old clothes and $1 and you wouldn't even know they began with junk. I've made curtains and shower curtains out of sheets. I can paint and crochet and scrapbook...but sewing? gets the best of me every time. Which is pretty sad since my mom is a master sew-er (?) and made a good deal of my clothes growing up. My aunt, too!
So, did they get all the sewing genes, thereby leaving the pool empty of that talent? LOL

December is Crazy!

This whole month has been me running around like a crazy person! Last minute gifts, crafts, Christmas traditions, decorating, plus work and the usual three kid circus!
On top of all that, I am trying to get a child portrait thing going and will probably start a new blog just for that. I just plain don't have the time to make it look like I want right this second, so it's going to have to wait. Probably until 2010.
In the meantime, here are a few cuties I did a photoshoot with last week. It was so fun!
I am now finally convinced that I could do this as a profession! Fun fun...
