Happy Memorial Day!
Yesterday Reed's friend Jimmy and his family graciously invited us to go along with them to celebrate Memorial Day on their boat. It was a 44 foot Sea Ray with 3 beds, 2 bathrooms, a shower, a kitchen..Super nice!! We rode out to Shell Island and anchored for the day, had lunch on the back deck (grilled by Jimmy!), played on the beach, found sea urchins and starfish and seashells and had a blast!

Brothers

So these guys do argue. They whine about the other and sometimes they don't share. Sometimes they purposely take the best cookie so the other can't have it. And sometimes they have to be seperated.

But boy, do they love each other. They will both fiercely protect the other, from playmates who are being too "rough", to Mom and Dad when they think we are being too "mean" to the other. They rush to give hugs when they've been apart even for a few hours, play for hours in their room together building lego aliens and cars, Carson reads to Trevor and Trevor tries to emulate all the big boy things Carson does. We love that they are so close and hope that they stay this close always.

Crazy Busy!

I am so slack on this blog but we really have been ridiculously busy lately. Doctor's appointments, end of the school year stuff for Carson, dealership grand opening, mothers day...there's always something! Add to that two young boys and a pregnant mama and a VERY busy daddy and we don't get much down time.

Carson had Kindergarten Graduation yesterday, and while I think in principle this is silly, it was really cute and sweet to see. Our boy is so big already! They sang a few songs and handed out "diplomas" and then it was off to the water park for some fun with all his friends!




He sang his little heart out to "I hope you dance" and mommy teared up! stupid hormones. LOL

Trevor was super proud of his big brother. Look how big they both are! I can't wait to frame this one, and years from now I'll put it next to a high school graduation picture. So sweet!

woohoo Water park! Mommy needs to clean her UV filter! see that playground behind them? it's covered in water cannons, sprayers, buckets that dump periodically...so fun! the big pool is behind that. I have a feeling we'll be spending alot more time here.

Pretty Pink

So, I haven't blogged about it, but most of you know we're expecting a girl in just 90 something days! We got the crib all set up, I ordered a VERY plain bumper--but oh so soft! You can't see, but there are raised dots on the bumper and it's uber soft material. There are sheets and a friend is making a quilt with my colors. I made the crib skirt out of tulle and ribbons, and I like it! It was my first attempt at something like this, and I think it turned out pretty well. It's a bit more opaque in person, I guess the flash sees through the material. I don't have a crib mattress in there yet, but once I do you won't see the white material holding it together. I'm also painting some frames and a large painting for her room. Yay for no theme! lol How do you like those pink walls?

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope everyone had a great one. Mine was pretty darn nice. If I couldn't be with my own extended family, this is exactly what I wanted to do. Hanging at the beach on a beautiful day with my hubby and kiddos and good friends...nothing better! There was some serious wind going on, so we couldn't get in the water--just look at those waves! But the kids had a blast even without the ocean. They made sand fortresses and played on the huge pirate ship playground that was behind us. The adults sat back, relaxed, and took turns watching the younguns. Very nice! :)

Just a few

Just a few pics of the house because it was requested. I will have more shortly, but this is the boys room with the stripes I painted. I am pleased with how they came out. It's a small room, but big enough for the two beds and a bit of playroom.

Here's the living room. This is the same paint we had in our house before, and we love it! Makes it look so bright and sunny! And the colors matched our furniture and accessories already! woohoo!

An Elvis Birthday

My birthday was 2 weeks ago, and our friend Shaunnah's birthday was last Friday. We had big plans to celebrate the two together, but Friday afternoon we still hadn't thought of anyplace we'd like to be other than home. Reed's old friend Kris was in town for the weekend, and Reed had a surprise that he'd hired for my birthday gift. An Elvis impersonator!! For those of you that know the Mike stories, Mike is the lot guy at Reed's work and is a source of near constant entertainment for Reed...and anyone who listens to Reed's stories about him. If you don't know the stories and would like to, give us a call! Reed will gladly tell you some of the funny things that go on at the dealership these days. In any case, when Reed found out that he does Elvis impersonations on the side, he thought it'd be a hoot to hire him for my b-day. I was pretty skeptical but I have to admit, it was a blast. All of the neighborhood kids clapped and cheered and danced with the music. The adults were pretty tickled and Elvis himself wasn't half bad....he just needs a real microphone instead of using his fist. Yes, he used his fist. We set up lights so he could see, and had the fire pit going, so the lights plus the smoke from the fire made a pretty dramatic stage! This is one birthday present I certainly won't forget! And Shaunnah probably won't either! LOL

Sweatmore Strawberry Farm

Friday Carson's class took a field trip to Sweatmore Strawberry Farm and I was asked to chaperone. Trevor got to come along too, and felt VERY big going to school. We loved it! The weather was HOT but the kids were too busy enjoying the activities to complain. We saw animals in the barn--chickens, roosters, turkeys, peacocks, goats, cows and pigs! We played horseshoes and rode on a tractor ride. And of course, picked strawberries. YUM! You could eat them right off the vine and they were warm and super sweet. Trevor was tinted pink before we left, he probably ate more than he gathered for his basket!

St. Andrews State Park

After freezing our booties off in Alabama, we came home to awesome weather. For my birthday I really wanted a picnic on the beach with my family, so we loaded up the car and went to St. Andrews State Park which is at the end of our little "strip" of beach. The jettys make for calm "pools" of water that the kids can swim in without fear, it's shallow FAR out into it so we aren't worried about anyone getting in over their heads, and the water, as you can see, is CRYSTAL CLEAR. You could probably count grains of sand on the bottom. So beautiful! The water was still a bit cold yet, but that didn't stop the boys from getting in and playing! We can't wait till the water warms up a bit so that Reed and I can enjoy it as well.

the clear/green water is only about waist deep at the most, and extends pretty far out. The rocks mark the barrier where the water gets deeper.

Athens

Earlier in the month we went to Athens, AL to see Reed's family. It had been a long time since we were there! We didn't get many pictures because the weather was pretty uncooperative most of the weekend, but we did go to the lake and feed the many many many ducks they have there. I think it's going to be a tradition when we visit to take bread to the duckies. Reed's family also had a birthday dinner for me since my birthday was a few days later. How sweet!

Tyndall Air Show

I'm WAY behind on this blog, so I have to backtrack a bit. At the beginning of April we went to the Tyndall Air Show. It was super fun and the boys loved seeing all the planes up close. They did tricks and twists that just looked unreal. I thought these hearts were cute. :)
